Hey all, I work for a satellite communications company, and we're looking for a Senior PCB CAD Engineer to join our company. This isn't a standard layout role. You'd be the technical authority for our PCBA design strategy, setting standards the rest of the team builds on.
Some details/things you'd own:
HDI stack-up strategy: via technology selection, floor-planning for flagship multilayer boards
Schematic ownership: hierarchical captures, deep circuit analysis, not just execution
SI/PI leadership: DRC oversight plus signal and power integrity work to get first-pass right
Library/CAD governance: setting the standard for component libraries and PLM integration across the department
Automation: this is a big one for us. Building Python-based tooling and AI-driven workflows to speed up schematic generation and routing feasibility
Cross-functional lead: you'd be the go-between for Hardware, Mechanical, Antenna, and Firmware teams, especially on EMI and integration challenges
DfX: enforcing DFM/DFA/DFT as we scale designs into high-volume production
Ideal person has deep Cadence Allegro/OrCAD chops, has actually led (not just executed) multilayer/HDI designs, and is comfortable mentoring junior engineers.
If this sounds like your kind of work, or you know someone who'd be a great fit, feel free to DM me. Happy to answer questions about the job or the team.
