What is CC0603 and CR0603?
« on: May 06, 2023, 05:42:20 pm »
Hi,
What is the difference between the above two, when they are used to describe a 0603 ceramic chip cap?
(I am working somewhere where they have both of these in their pcb layout program)

'Perfection' is the enemy of 'perfectly satisfactory'

Chip Resistor or Chip Capacitor. 0603 only refers to the horizontal dimensions and lacks info about the height of the solder terminals. IPC-A-610 contains info about the required solder fillet height for different acceptance classes, so different pad shapes is one way to achive this, in combination with stencil design and solder paste selection.
