The craftsmanship is a bit crude, but I'm sure it works and it must be nice to watch it rotate. I would enjoy to play with it. Zero sarcasm here by the way. It's probably some kid project.

It's a ... magnet.
How else would that motor work?
Yeah, I like stuff like that too. In fact, I've always wanted to make a motor like that, maybe even simpler. A bit less crude, however.

One of the chief resident "experts" of the hater squad thinks a magnet on the primitive motor is a toilet donut and yet thinks he knows more about robots than me  :palm:

There is a word for his comment -------a "jest".

He probably does know more than you because I see no evidence you are nothing more than a layman claiming you are a roboticist.

Still no answer to my questions -

1. I asked you what did these decorated roboticists / laymen see of your work that would cause them to think you are doing elite world class robotic work. What video, what item you made, what working piece of software, what mechanical design. You didn't respond with a single thing I can look at to compare my observations with theirs. So my conclusions are you are bullsh*tting us. You have nothing of any redeeming value to present so you just bullsh*t your way through any criticism.

2. A layman is not a decorated roboticist, else any and all laymen can simply call themselves anything they wish to impress people, so that rules all of them out. Who are these decorated roboticists? If they are decorated what is the "decoration"? What organization gave them this title? How did you verify they are telling the truth about being a decorated roboticist? What companies do they work for if they are so highly regarded? What are their names, these decorated roboticists? What did they learn from you to warrant these compliments?

Oh wait! I think I know now. You gave them the title! They are decorated roboticists because they said you are doing great work! So the decoration came from you. Ah yes it's all coming together.
I told my friends I could teach them to be funny, but they all just laughed at me.

I didn't write the names of the highly decorated roboticists that voted confidence in me owning the robot scene.  Nor do I have a way to look it up since it happened on livestreams with viewers

You are picking and choosing very little to answer because you are bullsh*tting us. Forget the names then. Here I'll list the questions very simply so you might be able to concentrate -

1. What did these decorated roboticists / laymen see of your work that would cause them to think you are doing elite world class robotic work.

2. What video, what item you made, what working piece of software, what mechanical design.

3. What is the "decoration" conferred on a decorated roboticist?

4. What organization gave them this title?

5. How did you verify they are telling the truth about being a decorated roboticist? If you didn't look up the names and investigate you don't know sh*t about their qualifications.

6. What companies do they work for if they are so highly regarded?

7. What did they learn from you to warrant these compliments?

I told my friends I could teach them to be funny, but they all just laughed at me.

1,2
don't recall.  Maybe just designs and verbal descriptions at the time.  And perhaps a little progress on some stuff other than that.

3,4 part of big project teams on famous robots and/or degree(s) in related fields

5. believed them at their word

6. don't recall

7. same as question 2

More bullsh*t and skirting the issue - I don't know, I forgot, I can't say. I can completely dismiss all of those claims now, and I hope any readers out there will also. Simply dust in the wind claims meaning Zero.

The main point I think is good regarding the members here calling this project out is anyone researching this so-called "advanced" robot project will easily find this thread. They will be able to see opposing views calling these designs out which may not be in the many other online forums this "project" is on. Hopefully anyone that can think in a critical fashion will be able to realize how ridiculous these designs are. No working AI software has been demonstrated - hell no working robotic software has been demonstrated, parts designed as if a 6 year old was given scissors and a bottle of glue, simplistic videos talking about mounting lamps to chairs and fishing line, all these are fantastic inventions and pioneering achievements?

It's all a gigantic waste of time purported to be designing a robot but appears as nothing more than an elaborate ruse to get YT followers and patrons. Please readers, don't waste your money backing this project. If you bought a Ruko toy robot from Amazon for $99 you'd be light-years ahead of this project as soon as you opened the box. I bet ten years from now that toy will still do more this this project's "robot". Read through this thread and think about it.

To the readers out there following - why don't you join this forum and tell us what you think of this project?

I possess a photographic memory. Just by hearing the name of an item, I am be able to envision it in realistic detail. I often visualize an invention in my mind with extreme precision, including all dimensions, before moving to the construction stage, a technique sometimes known as picture thinking.

I watched a few of their non-robot related videos.  Living at home, full time gamer, punching holes in walls and purchases punching bag for when they get upset playing games....   Nothing PHD level.   I don't feel sorry for the parents that managed to pop one out, and then never invest time into their upbringing.  I wonder if the trend continues.

8.2 Billion and this is where we are.

Nikola Tesla used to trot out this kind of embarrassing bullshit. Perhaps Larry will attain the same cult status?

Yes, he did, and its wonderful to hear someone who isn't taken in by all the bullshit around Tesla.  He actually claimed that not only could he visualise every part of a working machine, assemble them in his head, he actually said he could run the machine in his head and then inspect the parts for wear!

When I read that I realised that his more extreme claims may not be entirely reliable.....

Sorry, topic drift.

Thanks Xena E,  I actually have mixed feelings, as the bragging part;  most of us get turned off by that component.  But,  funny coincidence, I'm right now assembling a thread about:
   'Visual Thinking'.

So I best get that posted soon.
When I was in the 'Mechanical Phase' of inventing I was showing off my visual and graphic skills,  saying "Check out my little hand drawn graphic".
That little sketch featured two lines, at right angles, each 1 inch long, and each line with division lines,...all free hand.

"No way !" was the response, (to my delight):
So,  I did that measured graphic again,  this time while being watched (no ruler to use).

So, it is a special talent, and very useful if doing mechanical prototype builds,  from 10 inches up to 7 ft. tall (2 meters).
So enjoyable too,  as many carpenters know.

I don't know about ALL of that bragging by OP, but (I) have a portion of those visual skills.
As to seeing a whole project laid out, visually, I was just the opposite;
I mean;  Could you 'picture' a mechanical memory, say 109 digits, including address decoders ?   What would that look like ?  I had no clue, except that by designing and BUILDing it.  Didn't even know the size it would turn out.

But after building the memory module,  I can tell you it was approx. the size of a large kitchen toaster.   The visual precognition only goes so far.   Where would YOU, as a reader, even start, if requested to show a 'design' for a 20 digit mechanical memory ?

Yep, there's certainly a cult around Tesla (Nikola, not the EV), with lotsa devoted fanbois and gurls. I think of him as highly intelligent but a borderline nutcase.

Sorry, this thread/project and this user are obviously causing too much personal friction on this forum. For the good of the forum I am shutting both down.
