Tympanometer Calibration
« on: July 30, 2021, 06:30:46 am »
Anyone here know how to calibrate a tympanometer?

What I really want to do is buy the calibration equipment.
As best I can figure, such a calibrator would need an artificial ear that can simulate
both a healthy and diseased tympanium (as in an "ear drum").

Thanks, Bob

Standards are available and may vary by instrument.  Here are CDC recommendations: https://www.cdc.gov/nchs/data/nhanes/nhanes_09_10/audiometry_09.pdf

Apparently the validation (page 2-36) applies to a specific brand.  My suggestion is to search on your brand.
