I fried my STLink v2 yesterday, by putting the 12 volt rail into pin 1 (target Vcc).
Funny thing was it actually kept working for a few minutes.
The pcb smells of component charring and I suspect a resistor that I can no longer read the value of. it measures about 30-40Ohms. I am hoping this is the only problem.
So a schematic would be useful. Or even a photo of the main board.
I have looked at the discovery board circuits but I am not sure if the st link is consistent with them.
Also I am now using the F3 discovery for programming while my real programmer remains broken.
Doh!
No schematic, sorry. You probably zapped the level translator. It's a 74...8T245, as I remember from taking mine apart once. The disco boards are *not* the same because they lack the level translation. In fact, the only reason I bought the dongle was to debug a 1V8 board--the disco boards were fine for everything else.
OTOH, $20 is a pretty cheap lesson.
Yes very cheap lesson, but one that I shouldn't need.
SN74LVC8T245DGVR seems to be the part.
Thanks
