Hello,
http://nightforce.free.fr/
I recently bought an Jovy RE-8500 station (almost new) for my workshop. I like the rework station. It's a shame that the manufacturer no longer exists.
The station has a couple of minor defects. The laser does not work, the vacuum tweezers are weak. It's all fixable.
The reason I am writing to you is. Is it possible to read the firmware from the C8051A340 Controller?
From the memory of 24C64WP, I think I can read it. But the C8051 is problematic.
If I have already opened the control box, then I think to make a backup copy in advance in case you have to repair it.
I have Silicon Labs USB Debug Adapter and Silicon Labs for C8051xxxx, but I can not find the read function.
PCB Rev.: 2.03
Maybe someone has already done this? Or is there already a dump so that I do not risk in vain?
And what about activating license for a computer control software? Can I get around it somehow?
Regards
Tudor

Thanks for the answer.
I have tried all versions from this site.
Also with changed the IP address to French. Everything exactly the program is launched as not licensed.
I even received a license file from the sellers archives with the correct serial number. Everything exactly the program is launched as not licensed. I think that he did not send me a fake.
Why is this so?
Please help me. -
Hey all
I was reading the wonderful convo for Jovy Re8500 .please can anyone help me with my jovy Re7500 I get too much of a temp variation and I have changed the thermocouple it same issues. Now the only thing is the MCU cypress CY8C29566-24AXI 44pin qfp maybe bad does anyone have the firmware for this also there is a port on the board UX1 to do issp programming. Please if anyone can help me I am so handicapped without this
Thanks

Okay so the bottom heater has an integrated thermocouple which does not show any ohms does anyone know how I can check it is elstien T-SHT 600 watts
-
You can chek the elstien T-SHT 600 with the simple ohmmeter. The heat spiral must have several ohms. Approximately until 10 Ohm. If the resistance is very high, then you must check the connecting the spiral with a further wire.

After using a firmware with Silabs bootloader there is a problem with connection using Jovy PC Suite. Problem is caused by unoriginal bootloader, app try to get serial number from bootloader area and convert it to number what trows exception because data is rubbish, not a serial number.
So, I patched original .exe to use file sn.cfg as a external source of serial number. Without this file app will use hardcoded serial number for RE-8500 rev 1 with 5 TC. If you want to use with 3 TC version(serial number above JV85114013) or RE-7500 you should provide valid SN in config file. Licence files are not longer needed.

Hello
I have a problem with the connection to the processor
i have this message
please help

Hello,
Thanks for the firmware abyrvalg
I finally managed to fix the station but I have such a problem
-
You need Silabs EC3 or EC6 programming adapter (check AliExpress, WaveShare etc) to write firmware to the MCU. The firmware file is in the 3rd message of this thread.
-
I mean this firmware: https://www.eevblog.com/forum/microcontrollers/c8051f340-usb-bootloader-jovy-systems-re8500/?action=dlattach;attach=995006
- this is a full flash (unlike the jfw).
No idea about license EEPROM, but we can check it later if any problems arise. -
Which “key from another machine”?
What happens when you connect the USB cable? Any reaction? Device connect sound? -
Hi Abyrvalg,
Thank you for your firmware.
Please help me revive my soldering station JOVY SYSTEMS RE 8500;)
Briefly about my version:
JOVY SYSTEMS RE-8500
MB PCB REV: 2.03
My version with 5 thermocouples
The situation is as follows:
I bought a faulty soldering station, opening the station case, I can see that the С8051F340 chip has already been soldered (possibly by the previous owner).
After taking measurements with a multimeter, I saw that on the VDD (PIN 10) - is 5 Ohm, and D+ (PIN8) - is 11 Ohms. This made it clear that the contacts were short-circuited.
After that, I replaced this chip C8051F340 with a new one. I flashed this chip with your firmware ( * 8500_full.zip) using a programmer.
After that, I turned on the board and a beep sound appeared, and an image appeared on the display (it says "JOVY SYSTEMS")
And everything seemed to work, but unfortunately there is a problem - there is no reaction to pressing the keys.
I checked the keys with a multimeter and whether the signals from the keys are coming to C8051F340, and so all the signals when you press the keys come to the controller without any problems.
Now I don't understand why the buttons don't work because of the firmware?
The board also has - EEPROM (24c64wp), the board shows that it has probably never been soldered. I tried to read its dump, it's probably still original, but I'm not sure, I saved it.
I will attach 2 photos, one shows what the display looks like after the firmware, and I will also attach a dump from 24C64WP.
Please help me understand what exactly is interfering with the buttons, and where to go in the diagnostics to repair this old JOVY..
I will wait for any answer;)
Thanks

Hello everyone,
Thanks to the processor software you shared, I was able to repair and successfully start up my Jovy RE-8500 machine. I really appreciate your help.
However, I’m experiencing a problem: instead of my serial number, some strange characters are being displayed. The Jovy software itself is also behaving oddly, and the temperature probe has started showing readings that are about 20 degrees lower than the actual temperature.
The machine was purchased second-hand, and unfortunately I do not have the original license file.
Has anyone encountered a similar issue or could suggest what might be causing this?
Thank you in advance for your support.

I ran into the same problem: after the firmware update, the "Jovy" logo stays lit. I suspect the issue lies in the microcontroller's firmware itself. Did you manage to solve the problem
