Help Using AVRProg library

Hi im trying to use the Adafruit AVRProg library
https://github.com/adafruit/Adafruit_AVRProg
to make a standalone programmer but am having zero luck with it. hoping someone here can help, i asked over on the adafruit forum months ago but they said it was unsupported. The hardware is good, can be programmed using pymcuprog. But i'm a hardware person not software so I'm screwing up somewhere in the library. Here is my post on the adafruit forum
https://forums.adafruit.com/viewtopic.php?t=201225
EDIT: Figured it out AVR is unsupported, moved to esp32 and it works
