Instrument Input into Teensy Audio Board, 4.0 RevD
« on: Yesterday at 04:01:49 am »
Thanks for reading. I am working on making a simple guitar buffer circuit that will connect to the audio input of the Teensy Audio Board Rev D.

Is it ok to connect RIN and LIN together?
The buffer circuit's output jack GND lug connected to the RINGND and LINGND? Or is it better to keep these pins separated?
    (I won't be using stereo).

*Also. is it OK to connect the GND to AGND?
Sincere Thanks for any advice/help,
TonyA

usually you can short inputs together, (both inputs just receive the same signal), but not outputs. When you connect outputs together, then either output is likely to output a (slightly) different voltage, and this may have strange effects. From getting hot or instability / oscillations. For the outputs, if you want to combine them, then add series resistors to them. This will average out small differences between the two outputs.

Or just use either the left or right channel (both for input and output) and not the other.
