Stumbled upon the M5Dial controller from M5Stack recently - ESP32S3 controller housed in a rotary encoder with 1.28" lcd touchscreen plastic housing that has a threaded nut body for easy panel mounting. Not too shabby at $35.
I've been an AVR guy my whole life, but these new fangled ESP32 boards have quite a nice feature set with WiFi, BLE, RFID, RTC and much more. I had to get one just to play with and begin learning the ESP32 platform.
