Microchip forcing MPLAB X?

I went to try and download MPLAB 8.83 and it seems Microchip killed the links and are gently forcing people to download mplab x.

anyone else have the same problem?

I found the issue. 

It works in internet explorer just fine.  I was using google chrome and I am pretty sure there were some parsing errors.

I also heard back from the FAE, that the website is in the process of being updated so there might be some broken links here and there.

Microchip does a poor job of having their website work properly on all browsers.  Just try to use their forums with FireFox.
