Program CH552 on WinXP PC?
« on: May 17, 2024, 10:14:14 pm »
I have been programming the CH552 micro controller using a Win10 PC but would like to program it on a WinXP PC.  The WCHISP Studio software does not seem to install on WinXP.    Any ideas?

Your only bet that I know of would be this: https://github.com/ch32-rs/wchisp
although they mention that the support of the CH552 may be buggy. But could be worth a shot. (I've used it on Linux with CH32V30x MCUs.)

The problem is that they only provide win x64 binaries (and I highly doubt that you have a Win XP 64-bit, that did exist though, but also doubt it would be compatible anyway).

You could try building it yourself, but I also doubt Rust supports building for Win XP, but that's something to have a look at. Sorry I don't see alternatives.
