ST7567 132x65 GLCD Icon Feature -- SPI Interface
« on: March 03, 2021, 10:12:18 pm »
I am using an SPI serial LCD graphical display with the ST7567 controller (not ST7567A).  It has a 65th, 1-bit row ("page 8").

When I address that row, the entire screen turns on.  It's called a common, "icon" row.  Documentation is sparse.  In fact, Google turned up no examples for its use.

Does anyone have any experience with it to share?

BTW, the ST7567A claims to allow reading in SPI mode.  I am also interested in that, but my current project is fixed on the ST7567.  An SPI interface that actually allows reading would be great.   If you have used that mode, I am anxious to hear about it too.

That is for driving additional predefined icons on the glass, if any. If your display does not have any, and the vast majority of them don't (since these icons would be customised to a specific application), then it won't be useful.

Thank you, now what I was seeing makes sense.

Do you have any experience with the ST7567A and reading DDRAM with an SPI interface?

That would be a nice combination.  I have gotten quite used to the ST7567 and like its speed.
