STC 12c5a60 with TL866 (II) programer

I purchased a TL866(II) programmer specifically to read and reprogram an STC12c5a60s2 microcontroller discovering later that it is not on the list of supported chips.
Are there any known workarounds for this? for example:

a)selecting a chip from another supplier with equivalent programming characteristics and pin outs.
b)Third party software that supports the  STC12c5a60s2
c) A way to add new devices to the existing TL866 software?

You don't need any programmer. It can be programmed in circuit via UART.

Open datasheet, there is schematic. Basically you can buy cheap USB-UART adapter and connect it directly to MCU. Or connect to COM port through voltage level shifter.

Thanks for help. Unfortunately I don't think I will be able to get an adaptor until after the holidays.
Do I need any software to  upload / download the program to the device from a windows PC?

For non-Windows users, there is the STCGAL tool written in python available on github. https://github.com/grigorig/stcgal

Note that you cannot copy or duplicate STC parts, you must have the source or object files to program a device.
