STM32G pins fallen out, will it work?
« on: January 22, 2022, 01:01:26 am »
Hi
Due to semiconductor shortage I only have access to 1 STM32G431
It was soldered on a makeshift copper board

So I tried to desolder it and lost 3 pins in the process. Two of them are for OSC in and OSC out
One is PA14 which I was using for UART, so I could change to another pin for this I think

It’s a 32 pin chip but only need spi and UART

Do you think the chip will still work? The pins proper fell out with just holes remaining

What pins are required for programming?

Also are there any alternatives to STM32G431 that I can actually buy?

Project needs to use printf at very high speed

well if only these pins have fallen it wouldn't be much of a problem, but you will have to use the internal oscillator for clock generation, problem will be UART at high speed, you may need some precision there and the internal RC wont give it, it depends of what you understand as high speed.

PA14 no idea because didn't give us the package you are using but normally there are several USART(g431 has 3)you can use, depends again of the layout of your board.
