[Suggestion] Followup Add Third Gender to Signup

Well unfortunately my previous thread was locked without me being allowed to respond, it seems the community here is very clear on how they treat newcomers and suggestions, I really didn't expect this from Dave's forum.

@IanB Only reason I wanted to put my gender is because sometimes there is confusion where someone doesn't know the gender and assumes one or another during simple context in forum threads, this is basically to save time and avoid mistakes, it's efficiency.

@Gyro It is not a statement, it is simply to help people, why have a gender field at all then if we assume everyone as neutral here? Then that becomes the bigger question why not just remove fields such as Gender and Location during signup, them being required or not doesn't change the fact they exist and the reasons behind is what I was thinking about.

@gnif Let me just begin to say I'm not even going to make assumptions about your personality or anything but if you just need to 'feel something' I understand, I came here to find people who are interested in electronics, ask questions to fellow engineers etc, you assuming a gender field is a dating service tells me you really don't understand the point of the thread, since you're an admin I will also mention this if this is how you treat people here by basically silencing without giving them a chance to respond I will happily find my way out and you can delete this account, I will send an email to dave about the experience in the forum also because honestly wtf.. I've seen stereotypes about reddit moderators but this is next level, I've been a subscriber for over 10 years.

To anyone who thinks i'm making a fuss about something small the point I was going to make in the original thread was just then why have useless fields at all I just wanted a simple response but instead this showed a different side of the staff, this is not a statement about this or that just technical relevance I've hosted forums myself for many years I love that forums are still around since social media seems to have taken over so any community left is always welcome.

To the admins you can delete my account and continue to do what you do at least I know how it is here now, thank you.

1) Your thread was locked not to prevent you replying, but to avoid a topic that is potentially inflammatory and would likely result in a flame war. If I wanted to silence you I could have simply banned your account and deleted the thread.

2) The software running this forum was initially released in 2011, so it's 15 years old. It came from a different time when the internet was a very different place, when people did like to share their gender and nationality. It was designed to cater to running any kind of forum. In this community what country you are from and what your want to state your gender is, is very much a non issue. If you are that concerned that people know what your gender is, put it in your signature.

3) Don't put words in my mouth, I was not "assuming a gender field is a dating service", I was making a point to you that the field is useless on this forum, and there is no need to create an issue out of something that is a non-issue.

4) If you have an issue with a moderator or admin decision, feel free to contact us via a private message, or sure, go ahead, email Dave.

As we do not "silence" people, we also do not delete accounts. I will happily though anonymize your account and lock it if so desired.
