Started By column should be left-justified

In forum post listings, most of the columns are left-justified...which makes them easily readable.  But the Started By column is center-justified, which makes it difficult to read.  Center-justified things are often a poor choice, because the eye has to keep jumping around to find the start of the item in the next row instead of just moving down the page.  This applies to the Replies/Views column, too...I think that should be left-justified.

Left-justified is easier to read.  A book that had a jagged left edge would be a nightmare to read.

Use left-aligned text. A consistent left margin makes reading easier.

I think you're talking about the SMF forum software rather than stuff Dave has control over. You're likely in the wrong place entirely if you want someone relevant to hear your opinion.

Except that you justify text when laying out paragraphs. You align entries in table columns.

I find the center alignment of the entries in the columns is aesthetically pleasing, and I have no problem reading them that way.

So add for me a second vote of disagreement. I think the SMF software has it fine the way it is.

I think center justified works just fine for this particular application, and I really don't think it would make any difference on ease of reading, it's just a person's handle anyway.  Is this even something any of the admins could control if they wanted to? I would assume it's just the way the forum software works.
