Are used power transistors from Ebay China real? Fake?

Got home real late and found a few packages in my mail, so decided to burn the midnight oil to see if they are any good.

In this video we have a Kenwood ts-2000 that has a blown 2sc5125. No longer available I ordered a refurbished transistor from China. Are they real? Fake? Lets see.

Really enjoy your videos, would love to see some more repair videos using the schematic like you did on the Heathkit IG-1271 repair, I think beginners could learn a lot from these as often the troubleshooting side of things is left out.

Usually refurbished or old RF parts from China are authentic, but be extremely careful with power switching devices.
Some switching transistors are salvaged in a horrible fashion -- fry PCB with oil, and let the parts pop off.

I saw something about that a few weeks ago. Nasty stuff and very unhealthy to the ones doing it.

Is the oil used for desoldering PCBs or was it Polychlorinated Biphenyl (such as cooling fluid) aka PCBs, which they sell as toxic illegal cheap cooking oil for fast food.

The soldering pot, fire or hot air method seems easier.

PCB oil is still probably better than Gutter oil. Look at your peril, you will never eat street vendor food again.
