I found it particulary interesting how the makers of Python underestimated the impact of changing the language. Unfortunately this is all too common amongst software developers. I still maintain Python 2.x code because the system's Python can't be upgraded.

Something else I found very interesting (because of being involved in hiring engineers every now and then) is the participation of women in the Python community. I was kind of surprised women still need to overcome hurdles to get involved in software engineering.

I did not watch this video ,but in the one i watched before the creator of Python said it was a deliberate decision not to maintain backward compatibility with older versions. Because of this I do not allow this shit in my Lab.

Sure, that's fine. There is no programming language that everybody likes.

The python vs [everything else] "controversy" is iconic and as old as python itself. Surely you're not trying to take credit for it?

Agreed. And on top of that, the documentary is not some kind of Python crash course or a long advertorial about Python being so great. No. It is a story about people having a cool idea and turning that into a very succesfull open source project with a large community and ecosystem around it. The documentary shows both the good things and the bad things that happened along the way without being judgemental.
