Another Deutsch Connector Question
« on: Yesterday at 09:02:07 pm »

Looking at Deutsch DTP connectors for another application. Rating are 25Amps per contact continuous at 125degC (no de-rating required).
I cannot find any data showing possibility of "pro-rating" for temps <125degC, or for short duty loads.

So I have a situation where ambient will be much less than 125degD, expect max load ~28amps for shorter periods, but continuous should be below the rated 25amps (circuit to be protected with a 30amp breaker).

Should I find a different connector, or what method can I prove that these are a suitable connector?

Thanks for any insight/thoughts

Why do you think temperature is a parameter here?
25 A is continuous rating, I don't see an issue with 28 A over short periods.
