Electronic Display Design Question
« on: November 07, 2023, 05:22:34 pm »
Hi all,

I'm an industrial design student and am extremely new to electronics. I'm looking to create a simple display similar to my attached image, but am not sure what components are at play to create such a result. I imagine there is some sort of display or perhaps an LED matrix behind the rounded black screen, but I can't figure out what. Would I be able to simply place such a display behind the black glass screen or would these be two connected parts?

Any advice or part identification would be greatly appreciated, Thanks.

Given all the pictures, it would not be practical to have this many individual LEDs. It is likely a round "watch" display like this https://www.buydisplay.com/1-32-inch-color-360x360-round-circle-screen-ips-tft-display-panel-gc9c01

But all the pictures there seemed to be 3D reneders, I would not expect it to look that sharp and high contrast in practice. You can get close though.

And there is no size reference, so it might just be a simple single color OLED display like this https://www.buydisplay.com/square-white-0-96-inch-96x96-oled-display-screen-ssd1317
