How to factory test EV-points? (Zln,Zlpe)
« on: August 28, 2023, 09:02:03 am »
To test installations people use testers to measure circuit impedance Zln and Zlpe.
This is a suitable test for installed systems that are live.

Some (simple passive) circuits can also be tested by standard resistance measurement, these circuits are not live. This can be done as bench-test at the end of a production line.

Problem:
This standard DC resistance test does not work for EVSE subassemblies because the relay is not engaged. You need an EVSE -tester for that.
How to do a bench test of the line resistances of only the EVSE assembly?

You cannot get repeatable results with the Zln and Zlpe tests because you also measure the factory circuits up to the test station. You also can't use a soft AC source because it will trip (I tried).

How are these circuits and cables validated?
