Excel graph intercept points.
« on: July 29, 2022, 06:20:22 pm »
Hi
I'm playing a with excel and some datasets downloaded form the Megger MIT525.
I need to plot this in a excel spreadsheet and compare this to a calculated constant, but this can also be plotted as a line on my chart.
What is the simplest way to find the intercept point between the dataset form the MIT525 and the constant.

If it's a straight line fit then you can use the SLOPE() and INTERCEPT() functions.  If you want a polynomial fit then you can use the LINEST() function.

Hi.
I'm getting a bit further on the project but have met a new challenge.
Because I'm using CSV import in the spreadsheet it is locked to the data source used when making the sheet.
Is there some simple way to change the reference to a different file.
I was hoping to find a way either by putting the link to the file in to a cell or opening a browser window to select a new file.

My spreadsheet is for analyzing resistance measurements streamed from a Megger MIT525 and similar instrument.
It can be used for motor and cable measurements.

Use the =hyperlink function not insert link or ctrl k. Take care with the syntax. The first parameter is the link, the second is the cell value.

Works for urls, local and relative files. A faff but see www.contextures.com/excelhyperlinkfunction.html#videoformula
