Genie SilentMax 1000 BWC (protocol?) decoding
« on: May 10, 2025, 01:05:25 am »
Hey, I have Genie SilentMax 1000 Garage Door Opener and trying to decode the wire protocol it speaks with the wall mount buttons. The wall mount has three buttons and two cables going to the main device. I attached the DSLogic to the cables and I got the catpures attached, but I cannot make sense of them. Was wondering if anyone has any idea what they are/mean.

First button I pressed was the "Lock" button, which prevents the Garage Opener from listening to open or close requests. I see Line 2 going low, then some high low high low that I can't seem to decode and finally settling at low (Lock Button.png)

The I pressed the button again, and after some dance ended up at high.

Then the next button was the Light button. I again see some communication but can't make much out of it.

Finally it's the Door Open/Close Button, which seem pretty straight forward. Got to low for 250ms, and then go back to high. Followed by some information transitted back by the main device, that I again, cannot decode.

Was wondering if anyone has any experience with these garage door openers and their "BWC" protocol or if anyone can do better job than me at decoding it. Thanks!

The DSLogic software is here, in case anyone wants to have a better look: https://www.dreamsourcelab.com/software/DSView_v1.3.2_x64_setup.exe

Nevermind, it's junk data. It's not digital, it's analog. Default is 3.3V. Light button activation takes it down to 1.6V. Sure-Lock button takes it down to 0.6V and keeps it there. Open/Close button takes it down to 0 volt.
