The cheapest way to get 24V from 15 - 30V input

I am looking for the easiest and/or cheapest way to get 24 V with input voltage 15 - 30 V. Maximum output current is 0.5 A max (though 0.2-0.3 A will be acceptable too). After quick browse through TI/AD website it seems that 4-switch buck - boost with discrete switches or SEPIC is the way to go. Although I've already used 4-switch controllers with success (LM5175/LM5176) I feel like it is a overkill for such application. SEPIC seems like the way to go. Is there a easier solution to what I'm trying to acheive? I don't care too much about board space, simplicity and cost are major factors.

Did you try TI’s Webench Power Designer? You put in your key parameters and it spits out a list of circuits, which you can then modify, simulate, and output a PCB layout for. I used it for a number of designs recently and it worked great.

I'm using this board from TI, the TPS55332. It can be smaller because it has an LC input filter, overall its pretty simple.

Not sure if it will work in this case since it is only boost type controller and I need to be able to step voltage down.

Just did that and it spits out non-isolated flyback and indeed SEPIC. I guess I'll stick with the latter.

I was hoping maybe someone would be familiar with IC similar to TPS55160 but with higher output voltage capability, because otherwise it would be ideal choice.

SEPIC is a very good solution, especially when conducted EMI could be an issue.
You should check ON Semiconductor as well for suitable ICs.
