High voltage trigger for piezo probe.
« on: October 17, 2026, 02:10:28 am »
Hello.
I am building an ultrasound non destructive tester.
I need to find a design that works for emmitting high voltage pulse of us width set by teensy, the pzt elements capacitance is 4.355nF (35x3mm).
Unipolar +300v max, typical 200v.
Teensy side with ISO7730 digital isolator for the 3 signals.
Work in progress. Please comment.
Thanks.
Clarification: only trigger block part of the schematic is shown, supply voltage 12v, high voltage supply labeled. J1 bnc connects to a pzt4 piezo element.

No, you don't want two switching devices. You want one.
Usually it's been an SCR or a MOSFET.
What you want is really one edge.

I'm sure that there are tons of experts here in this field.
