ID this connector?
« on: October 19, 2017, 08:02:43 pm »
The connector shown is used on a BMW motorcycle to connect the rear wiring harness to the front harness.

It has no markings on it anywhere - I checked thoroughly under a microscope.

I am looking to get some of these... maybe BMW is OEM'ing their own connectors?  But I would imagine they buy them from someone... just can't find this one anywhere.  Anyone recofnize it?

I don't have a picture of the mating part (yet).  However I was able to find a source for these connectors.  I sent it over to a cable supplier I use and they immediately said they know the connector and can supply them to me.

From what I've been able to find, it is actually a proprietary BMW part and they do not sell them individually, only as part of a wiring harness.  The connectors they do sell (for repairing wiring harnesses) have exorbitant prices - like $35 for a single 4 position connector (although with housing, terminals and seals).   So I believe any of these that are for sale are just knock-offs of the real part... probably why they don't have markings on them.
