IR2125
« on: March 29, 2018, 07:37:39 am »
I'm doing something with the IR2125 high side driver and i'm unable to find any mention in the datasheet of the highlighted pulse filter that's inside. It seems to function as a noise discriminator rendering the driver unresponsive to short glitches on the logic input. Now i need to know how short short is. In other words, what is the minimum pulse width i can use before it cuts out?
I did find experimentally that it works with pw=60ns, but doesn't with pw=50ns or less...but that's on one part only at ambient temperature...

Turn on rise time on page 6 might be pretty close to the number you're looking for which is 40-70ns depending on operating conditions.

I would imagine that turn-on rise time and turn-off fall time are load (gate charge)- and output driver-dependent.
My target was 50ns or less of output pulse duration, but as it stands today, the mosfet it drives is rather too large (slow) to respond properly even to 80ns at heavy (<20ohms) loads and supply voltage of 200V.
