Lightning cable dummy load
« on: September 16, 2022, 11:30:10 am »
I want to compare a bunch of chinese lighting cables. The plan is to put a load at the end and measure the voltage drop of the cable. Seems simple, by looking at the pinout pin 1 is GND and pin 5 is +5v. And indeed without load there are 5 volts but when i connect 180 ohm resistor across the pins the voltage drops to 2.7 volts. It knows that there is no phone connected and it limits the current. My question is how can i trick the cable and have it pass all the current?
