Little help finding some datasheets?
« on: January 23, 2017, 06:47:35 am »
Hi all.  It's been a while since I last posted.  A friend of mine gave me a crapload of integrated circuits in plastic tubes, about 130 different kinds.  (I'll make another post later about what they all are.)  It took a while but I tracked down datasheets for nearly all of them, but there's a few that I've had little to no luck finding a datasheet or even any clues as to what they are no matter how much searching I've done on every datasheet website I can find.  I'll attach a scan of all their markings.  Here's what I have so far:

Teledyne 741CP:  might be an opamp similar to the Harris CA741E and National Semiconductor LM741C
Synertek 2111-1:  possibly a 256x4 static ram; the bottom is marked F3052-2/404ES; Synertek seems to no longer exist
Philips 215CN:  the bottom is marked "PHIL" so I'm assuming it's Philips; might be a phase-locked loop similar to the Exar XR215
Teledyne 301CJ:  might be a resistor array, high speed analog switch, or a NAND gate
Teledyne 302CJ:  might be a NAND gate
Teledyne 351CJ:  no idea
Teledyne 361CJ:  a translator (?)
Teledyne 380CJ:  might be a decoder of some sort
Teledyne 723CJ:  might be an adjustable positive voltage regulator if it's similar to the Texas Instruments UA723
Motorola MC1020P:  might be a 3-input OR/NOR gate
Fairchild UC961659:  no idea
NE5558V:  the logo might possibly be System General; my best guess is that it's related to the 555 timer

Can anyone provide some help in tracking down what these are?  They all have date codes from the 70s and 80s.
Thanks!

Hmm, I've got a few like those Teledyne parts laying around... forget what I decided they were, if anything.

Teledyne datasheets seem to be hard to come by, even of old junk like this.

- Yes, likely a standard 741.
- Synertek's http://matthieu.benoit.free.fr/cross/data_sheets/2111A.pdf
- PHIL is probably Philippines, where it was made. Otherwise I agree it's an XR215.

A few results I found recommended looking here for the Teledyne parts: https://archive.org/details/bitsavers_ittdataBootorProductCatalog_54440015

This appears to be the master reference, if anyone happens to have a copy please upload to archive.org : https://books.google.com/books/about/HiNIL_High_Noise_Immunity_Logic.html?id=xOBMHAAACAAJ

Also from https://books.google.com/books?id=RcUgBQAAQBAJ&pg=PR7&lpg=PR7&dq=%22high+noise+immunity+logic%22+%22300+series%22&source=bl&ots=HTrYUJuUxL&sig=J3mbWwPfRCmXnAXHNrl47bZL0SU&hl=en&sa=X&redir_esc=y (I believe the full thing can be found at some other sites ;) )

301 - dual 5-input NAND
302 - quad 2-input NAND
351 - couldn't find this
361 - dual HINIL to DTL/TTL/RTL level translator
380 - BCD to decimal decoder
723 - I agree it's a 723 voltage regulator
MC1020P - MECL II quad line receivers
UC961959 - could be custom gate array
N5558V - Signetics N5558 dual op-amp.

Thanks for the info!  That should provide some good leads to help track down some datasheets.  And it's very true, the Teledyne parts are very hard to get datasheets for.  Of all the parts I did find datasheets for, not one of them was a Teledyne.

I missed one IC that I couldn't find any info about because it had no indicator whatsoever about the manufacturer and searching for what I assumed to be the part number turned up nothing.  I'll make a second posting with that one.
