Looking for self contained Galileo / GNSS GPSDO module
« on: December 01, 2024, 06:24:05 pm »
A couple of years ago I created a GPSDO around a uBlox LEA-M8F module. The only extra components needed are a 16 bit DAC and a good quality oscillator. Once you get it configured right, it works quite well. The only downside is that this module doesn't support Galileo. Since Galileo has been up & running for a while now, I would like to add Galileo support to the product in question.  So I have contacted uBlox about either firmware support for the LEA-M8F or a replacement product. So far I'm not getting very far with support; all I get is emails bouncing back & forth without the support person remotely trying to find an actual answer to my question.

So I start to fear that I'll need to start over which would be something I would like to avoid as verifying / testing the LEA-M8F took quite a bit of time & work. Does anyone have a suggestion for a GNSS module which can be turned into a GPSDO without needing an external microcontroller + control loop software, etc ?

There are small lies, big lies and then there is what is on the screen of your oscilloscope.
