LVDS clock driver
« on: December 26, 2017, 09:03:35 pm »
Hello
I have a LVDS clock and LVDS clock distributer
but there is a problem:
when I want to connect the Clock IC to the clock distributer there is a cross path between these components bcoz the P channel of clock distributer is in front of the N channel of Clock IC:
P1--->N2
N1--->P2

now if I want to connect the both P channels to each others I should use a via. (the clock freq is 200MHz)

is there any problem swapping P and N in order to make the layout clean?
P1--->N2
N1--->P2
if so there is no need to use any vias.

Thanks

Should be no problem at all.  It just changes the phase from the clock generator by 180 degrees, but the oscillator phase is arbitrary anyway and there is no other path that references it.
