Need level translator chip between different ground levels
« on: October 18, 2025, 02:04:51 pm »
For my current project, I need a digital signal level converter from the 0-3.3V range to -2.5V +2.5V. I've seen many level converter ICs, including 3.3V -> 5V, but none can convert between different ground reference levels (0 to -2.5V). Does such an IC even exist?
I need a three-channel converter with a frequency of around 10 MHz (but this isn't critical; lower frequencies are also acceptable, down to KHz).
I'm currently planning to use a four-channel comparator, but perhaps there's something more suitable?

Too bulky. But a digital isolator might work. However, it's quite expensive.  :(

I think you would make yourself a little power supply with -2.5V and +2.5v.

Eg use a inverting cuk to get the -2.5v
Use whatever you like to get the +2.5V.

Then put a comparator across that.

Then put your 0->3v3 signal into that comparator, with a reference of say 1.5V....the comparator will bash up and down between -2v5 and +2v5
