Offset Pattern Dsub Board-Board Pin Header????..........
« on: July 17, 2017, 09:28:12 pm »
Anyone know if someone makes a board-board pin header that fits in the offset Dsub pattern?  Bonus points if you can find a header that fits the 3Row HDDsub like in the attached picture.

Samtec said they don't have anything.  I really don't want to have to use two actual DSubs to connect these two boards together.  That seems like  a waste of both money and space.

Sorry.. One bump for the evening crowd.  Of all the things that you would expect to exist, this would be one.  This and the 0.1in box version of the DB9, which I remember there being a thread about and it didn't exist either.

I was looking through my old posts and I was surprised to see that no one had any feedback on this one.  I've wished a board to board connector that mated with DSub pins existed on multiple occasions.  I can't imagine I'm the only one.

Ya that would probably be functional, but it's only a half step up from point to point wiring the pads together.  For this to be a "production ready" design, it would really need to be one self contained connector part.
