Powerpole connector question
« on: June 06, 2018, 06:12:43 pm »
I need to feed 48V at 30A to a chassis of my design.  I would like to have a disconnect so I was looking at PowerPole PP30 connectors.  Do they connect together or is there a male/female equivalent?  Also, I need a chassis or panel mount for the box.  If someone has the part number that would take the PP30 or other sized powerpoles that would handle the current, that would be helpful.  I was planning to use a blue and green PP30 for the power (can also use black) and if I don't need male/female, I was going to just hook them from the feed cable into a panel mount connector but I don't see the panel mount on mouser.  I see some 'E' shaped clamps that will work fine.

Thanks

Jerry

Personally, I do not like power poles. XT60 is a good connector and I've seen a few different ways to accomplish a panel mount, like soldering it right to the board.

powerpoles are symmetric, just the plastic colors are different. Here is a bracket:

Hmm, 1/4" QC terminals are in that range.  (Tons of screw and barrier terminals too, but if you want a tool-free connection, that doesn't apply.)

so are the powerpoles the same sizes for the various amp ratings?  I was going to use the blue connectors, PP30. I can always cut a clamp like that if they aren't, just trying to minimize the custom work.

Pp15/30/45 are all the same housing just different contacts/wire size.
