Question about Philips PE1542 design
« on: August 28, 2022, 10:07:16 am »
Hi folks

I am currently repairing my PE1542 power supply. And while studying the schematics, I wonder what is the purpose of R30something, which is the 2.2Meg resistor in the lower left quadrant (see attached image).
I dont see any purpose other than adding an error to current measurement & regulation.

Any Idea?

Best regards,
Michael

It might compensate for the operating current of the regulator circuitry, that also flows through the current sense shunt resistor, so that the meter accurately indicates only the external current drawn from the PSU.
