Hello everyone,
As part of a student project, we are developing a sorting system for shredded plastic parts.
The goal is to detect and then sort different types of plastic (PE, ABS, PVC, PS, PA, PP, PC,
PET) in a continuous process.
The plastic shreds are approximately 3–10 mm in size and come in
different colors.
We are currently looking for technical support or recommendations,
especially regarding a suitable sensor (e.g., NIR, multispectral, or hyperspectral-based) that can reliably
distinguish the plastics.
Our project budget is approximately €1,100, so any information on test samples, affordable sensor solutions, or practical approaches would be
helpful.
If anyone has experience with similar projects or can provide tips on wavelength ranges, evaluation methods, or manufacturers, we would be very grateful.
Thank you in advance!
Best regards
