Hello all,
I am looking at ways to work with 12V from a wide input range, preferably 5V to 40V. Are buck or boost converters tolerable when Vin=Vout ? or should they be always a Volt low or high ?
I came across this (
https://www.monolithicpower.com/en/documentview/productdocument/index/version/2/document_type/Datasheet/lang/en/sku/MP3213/document_id/1111) where it says the switch current is 3.5A and most of its graphs are limited to 1000mA reading. The i see the Current Limit vs Duty Cycle graph where it shows up to 3.5A. Based on the calculated duty cycle of 67% i get close to 2.7A current limit. Does this suit my purpose of sourcing 2A from the IC ?
The 12V from the IC is further stepped down to 5V to power an LCD and an Atmega328 and the 12V would supply an n-mosfet driver. The FETS are switched on for a max 200ms Max with intervals of 1second between each trigger.
