Hello,
it is definately not a good time for open source hardware projects and probably will not be for at least annother year.

But well, this has been in the making for quite some time now and I started to use it more regulary.
I built a USB/CAN-FD interface with two isolated channels capable of doing up to 8MBit/s.
https://github.com/RudolphRiedel/USB_CAN-FDAnd it is all open source down to the Altium Designer design files.
The firmware is not by me:
https://github.com/jgressmann/supercanThis is a close cooperation though.
And there is a free Windows application supporting the interface as well:
https://github.com/TDahlmann/canppWe three work for the same company in the automotive sector and we are using CAN++ as well
as proprietary software to test automotive control units.
I do develop CAN nodes from hardware to software but these are usually tools for test-automation like specialized relay boards or prototypes for a proof-of-concept.
But we also started using our interfaces in bigger projects to complement our usual tools.
So, I am aware that you could not currently build your own units and I am not planning on selling any.
Well, maybe you are already sitting on ATSAME51J and wonder what to do with these.

Have fun, Rudolph
