UV-VIS
« on: February 03, 2014, 09:57:55 pm »
Does anybody know of a good variable wavelength light source and meter? I would like something reasonably cheap that I can hook up to my spectrum analyzer and measure the properties of chemicals. Nothing too fancy, just to play around with

Why not buy a used spectrophotometer on eBay?  Analog Spectronic 20s can be had for US$100 or less; digital for US$200 or less.  Documentation is easily found.

HPLC uv/vis detectors can be had fairly inexpensively from ebay, I picked up a uv/vis absorbance detector for a measly 20 dollars because they "couldn't test." My detector was complete and functioning with a deuterium source and scanning monochromator.
