Thanks for Alan, I enjoyed it. Plus, you explained it in such a way I can understand it. Coming from the digital domain, figuring out this analog stuff takes some effort for me.

A friend of mine is into robots and thus uses servos a lot, maybe this'll help make things easier for him. Controlling servos using a micro controller's hardware PWM controller can be inprecise because all the action happens between 4% and 8% duty cycle usually with only so many steps available in that range, so using a DAC of some sort with this idea is a nice alternative.

What happened to your hands though? Looks like you got into a fight with someone wearing spikes...

I think all the videos I've seen by w2aew are great. As a software guy diving into hardware, between EEVblog and w2aew I've been binge watching Youtube. For every bit as entertaining as I've found the EEVblog, the w2aew videos are super clear, concise and informative.

At first I was really jealous of the incredible equipment w2aew has in his videos. It makes the equipment in my budding ham shack/lab look like a set of tinker-toys. Actually I am still jealous, but I stumbled across a webpage which discussed his occupation and employer -- I don't feel so bad now.

Glad you liked it!  With regards to the condition of the back of my hands... ...blame on cleaning out the gutters on the house without gloves on.  But, it's pretty typical. If it wasn't the gutters, then it's from working on the cars, or the yard, or....

Yes, being a Field Applications Engineer for Tektronix has its benefits. I'm very fortunate to have found my dream job, and have a very understanding wife!
