Which component is this?

Dear forum members,

I must admit that I have forgotten what I once bought this component for. Sad bat true... 
It may be a Hall effect sensor, but I haven't succeeded in finding it anywhere online.
The image is taken on a 5 mm square notepad.

I have two more of these beauties, hopefully they will come to good use in some future project...

Looks like an Allegro logo, they made/make hall-effect sensors but are a little coy with their datasheets! Try searching for "SS41", or just "41E hall-effect". they are probably all similar devices but by different manufacturers.

Honeywell seems to have a decent datasheet.
Will test it tomorrow.
