x-microwave lego style biasing method
« on: July 18, 2025, 07:06:18 am »
Hello,I have bought a PCB of an amplifier. The amplifier is like a lego. The problem with this is how do I bias it. I have rf_in rf_out But I dont know how to bias such things. What component do we use to deliver the DC into this amplifier component?
Is there some examples? Thanks.

This is a few months old now so you may have already gotten started, but just in case:

The product page includes a "Bias and Sequencing" tab which details the requirements, in this case a VDD of 10V and it should draw approx 350mA.

If used with the X-Microwave ecosystem, you'd buy their suggested bias board (In this case: https://catalog.quanticxmw.com/item/bias-and-control/voltage-regulators/xm-a2j4-0404d-sp) and it will supply the bias voltage for you. They use a LP38798 regulator on their bias board. The bias board is meant to mount underneath the X-Microwave base plate.

Page #6 of this document shows it:
