Synchronous upgrade for dps3005, dps5005

Hi,

beginner question here,

is it possible to convert the dps3005 and similar power sources to a synchronous version ?
Meaning, to replace the diode with a n-channel mosfet and use irf 2104 half bridge mosfet driver to drive both mosfets from the original pwm signal.

The need here is for a more efficient power supply to use in a battery powered project.

Any thoughts on this one ? is there any meaningful benefit for this conversion ?
