After several years of using my DS1054Z, and carrying it around occasionally, one of the stock 150 MHz RP2200 probes has failed. (Doesn't pass any signal.)
The problem does not appear to be in the 10:1 selector switch, at least switching or wiggling it does not change anything. The coax cable looks good, without kinks or other exterior damage. So I'm wondering whether it is a bad connection on the plug or probe side -- but can't see an obvious way to get into either of these.
Of course these are low-cost probes, and I should probably simply get a new set. But if there is an easy way to open the probe tip and/or the plug, I would certainly want to give that a try. Thank you for any hints you might have!
