Hi rowth,
The scope in the pic that you attached is stuck in the boot mode and need to load the firmware.
You would need windows PC, USB type A to B (Printer USB cable), a firmware image (attached), WinUSB_Test (attached), USBTreeView and Zadig (program to install driver).
First, you will need to hold the SHIFT button then press the power button. You can let go the SHIFT button once the System update utility screen shows up.

Then you need to wait it to initialize. Once it done, Connect it to your PC then press the F3 button that labeled "F3:USB" on the screen.

The unknown device should show up as "DL series" in the Device manager.
Next, you gonna need the program called Zadig to install the driver. Open the program as admin then select the device "DL series" then click on the small up arrow button until you select the "WinUSB". After that hit the Install driver, wait for it to install. You should be greeted with "The driver was installed successfully". You can click OK then close the Zadig.
Now, you need to obtain the USB GUID of the scope because the WinUSB_Test app needed it. I'm not sure if there is/are better way(s) to do this. But what I recommend is to download the UsbTreeView program and you can copy the GUID number. You can then launch WinUSB_Test app. Paste the copied GUID of the scope. Hit the refresh button and select "DL series (SN:)" in the drop down menu.

Under "Bulk/Interrupt Transfer" section, set Interface to 0. Under the OUT Transfer, select endpoint 1. Then select the "g5e.bin" file and hit Start Transmission. You should see the transfer process on your scope. It will take a while and once it done. It will automatically reboot in 5 seconds.
