hey guys what is the h255L component is a active or passive type. how do i tell if its it active or not. Also is the component a crystal or a oscillator? This is in a synology ds216+ nas

Its a crystal oscillator with its 2 associated capacitors, normally you can test it with a scope on x10 impedance, youlll be able to see its frequency output on some pins

One of the two round pads near the caps will show you the frequency ??

The ic is an Intel I211  Lan controller, the datasheet says 25 mhz clock

thanks for replies currently don't have oscilloscope currently. I did get the fact it is a 25mhz but is a active or passthrough model?
