Help Identifying component and distributor
« on: May 17, 2019, 12:21:34 pm »
Hi,

I have a bluetooth Sony portable speaker SRS-XB20 which cannot charge its 2-cell 7.2V Li-ion battery.

The culrpit is probably this chip marked ASV7EA. I think it should boosts (when working!) the 5V USB to 8.3V and charge the battery.
It's probably a Silergy chip, some kind of step-up or battery charger ic.
The ref I have a datasheet for is a SY21282 but some pins don't match with what is populated on the pcb.

Does somebody know what ref is corresponding to the ASVxxx marking?

It seems to be SY6982 but the marking doesn't fit (the pinout does).
If someone have access to the SY6982A, it would be nice.

thanks,
it seems the ASV is some kind of variant as pin 5 & 6 are grounded.

I tried a SY6982E (from LCSC) and it doesn't work (because pin 6 is Vin sense and obviously must not be grounded to work properly).
SY6982C could work because pin 6 is ILIM

Anyway, I continue searching... Thanks for your help.

Hi, sorry for resurrecting an old thread. Has anyone managed to find the replacement for the chip mentioned in the first post?

Hey, SY6982C is now available to buy. Do you still have that faulty speaker?
