Help Latch IC # 93L34PC in HP LCR Meter
« on: May 02, 2022, 07:08:34 pm »
Hi All,
I have been looking around in Canada for some 93L34PC IC's but so far I am unable to find any. I have no idea how I could check this Logic IC . Could someone clue me in on testing this device. I have never tested a logic IC. lots of background in Electronics but this is a black hole.  I have the data sheet and Ill post the 1st page here.
Sorry for the lame request.
Thanks in advance.

Looks like your in luck, the 54LS259 & 74LS259 are the TI equivalent to the 9334 93L34 and seem to be easier to obtain.

David ,
Just curious , how or maybe I should say where did you find the cross reference to that latch?
Again Thanks
Garry

My IC Substitution Manual (1990) lists the following as substitutes for the 9334:

National DM9334
Signetics N9334, S9334

With a bit of web searching, link here https://datasheet.datasheetarchive.com/originals/scans/Scans-106/DSASCANS15-37816.pdf
Edit: Bit more searching and found the same pages in the 1978 Fairchild TTL databook, pages 421 (74259) & 620 (9334) of this pdf; https://usermanual.wiki/Document/1978FairchildTTLDataBook.2136441351/view

Searching for that again, I note Sphere in Canada have a Tek 156-0544-00 (aka 93L34), no idea how old it is though. https://www.sphere.bc.ca/test/tek-parts/tekparts4.html

Out of interest, which HP LCR meter is this from?

The problem is;  HP 4261A LCR Meter.

Someone removed a board full of logic chips and with a Hot Air gun and took all the chips out. He heated the board so much that in some places it is burned a bit. With a TL866 II programmer I found almost 90% of the logic Ic's no good. I figure it is from over temp. The guy who did this installed IC sockets all over the PCB , so at least one good thing. I am still waiting for 3 IC's  ( 93L34PC) and then I will be able to see if there is any other problems..
well, back to the drawing board.
Have a good one !
