Help sourcing compatible components
« on: May 28, 2026, 06:08:11 pm »
Hi all,

I am repairing some boards and I am looking for a replacement for the following EEPROM's

AT49LV002NT-90JC
AT49LV002NT-12JC
(I also see installed AT49BV002ANT-70JU on identical boards)

Datasheet:  https://www.mouser.com/catalog/specsheets/atmel_AT49BV,LV002(N)(T.pdf

AI suggests this model: SST39VF020-70-4C-WHE

I am also looking for a replacement for the below:
AT49BV001ANT-55JU

Datasheet: https://mm.digikey.com/Volume0/opasdata/d220001/medias/docus/2368/AT49BV001A%2CAN%2CAT%2CANT%20Rev05.pdf

Can someone point me to the right direction please? I appreciate those are available on Aliexpress but being memory chips with a finite life, I'm looking to source them from a reputable supplier (Mouser, Digikey etc)

Thank you!

This family of chips could be what you are looking for: https://www.mouser.com/datasheet/3/282/1/SST39LF010-SST39LF020-SST39LF040-SST39VF010-SST39VF020-SST39VF040-Data-Sheet-DS20005023.pdf

The pin outs seem to be equivalent and they are both available on mouser. However, for the replacement for the AT49BV001ANT-55JU there doesn't seem to be a low voltage option that also has 55ns access time, so you would have to choose between the two. Specifically, you could look at the SST39VF020 and SST39VF010.

I didn't thoroughly go through the datasheet, so you should probably still double check if these are actually equivalent.

I thought I posted a reply here but no, it got lost :)

Thanks for your help!

Today I got another identical board than the one fitting the 55ns chip (AT49BV001ANT-55JU) and in the same location it fits a AT49BV040B-JU which is a much different chip than the previous board. I feel they fitted what was available which would work but given that at least one board fits a 70ns chip, maybe I don't need to worry about 55ns access time? The boards are absolutely identical, including the revision.

Thanks
Tony

After looking at the chip dumps carefully, I realised the code only uses 128KB. Larger chips all have that 128KB copied on the empty areas. The DSP chip they’re connected to (DSP56301AG100) accepts a variety of sizes so I guess the manufacturer installed what they had available at that time.
