I have repaired a Keithley 610C Electrometer and made a video

The fault was extremely simple in the end, not even worth a video.
But the footage was too good for the trash, so this came out:


I got that meter for roughly 30$ from eBay, perfect condition but non-functional.
The first thing I checked was the discrete amplifier module, where a diode had shorted.

Nice video.  Something I noticed was the rear output switch was set to 1 MA.  The 1 MA / 3 V switch on the back is supposed to be set to 3 V if the output isn't connected to a 1 MA recorder.  There is a note about this in section 2-1 of the 610C manual.

Nice job on the fix. Always wanted an electronometer to mess around with, but wouldn't have much use for it.

Liked your video.
I bought a Keithley Model 210 Vacuum Tube Electrometer this summer at a yard sale.
Needs a lot of work and I believe a few almost unavailable accessories to operate properly.

Hope to get to this early next year.

What accessories? It's just a special voltmeter isn't it? If it needs some sort of attenuated probes you could probably just make some.

There is a shunt for the model 200 on eBay. Not sure if this is a drop in for the model 210.

You applications posting is very cool. I have an original model 210 paper manual. The manual was produced in September 1957.

Just to metion: replacing the transistor in diode configuration with an standard diode does not complete the repair work.
A diode-connected transistor has a very low reverse leakage current (what is an important aspect in applications with high input impedance).  ;)
